Economy on the Rebound

While the economy is on its way to recovery, businesses should plan for the encouragement to come slowly and plan strategies to accelerate their own growth. With 2010 comes the mixed outlook of only a slight projection of growth (0.5 percent), according to forbes.com. The site's Global Ad Outlook: Modest Growth For 2010 puts this small positive step, however, into glowing perspective. These same projections suggest that when numbers are calculated for 2009, the market will have plummeted a dramatic 9.9 percent to $445 billion in 2009. Although half a percent in growth hardly covers the loss seen in recent years, it brings a much-needed positive cast to what has become a bleak economic environment. This growth is an indicator that a little faith is being restored to the economy.

Indicators are that online advertising is going to be key to this rebound, particularly through the power of social media. MDi's experience with the power of social media tells us that it's particularly effective not only in communicating a business's message outward to the market, but facilitating the growth of that above-mentioned consumer faith. Information spreads like wildfire in social media?and just a glimmer of encouragement can provide that necessary (and cost-effective) flame.

So the road to recovery might be long, but it's looking brighter. Read more about the 2010 forecast at forbes.com.
